As part of APSA’s commitment to help, support and assist junior academics, we are officially launching the APSA Research Assistance Program. The Program is offered to APSA members who are undertaking or have completed a PhD within the last 5 years. Any PhD candidate or Early Career Researcher (ECR) who is currently an APSA member is eligible to participate.
The Program aims to widen the networks of APSA PhDs and ECRs beyond their own institutions and improve their chances of gaining research experience. This is especially relevant given the times of great uncertainty that Australia’s academic community, but especially our junior academics, are facing.
To do so, APSA will maintain a register of its PhD and ECR members who are available and interested in research assistance jobs. The register is accessible from APSA website and by APSA members only, who can consult the database and hire a PhD candidate or ECR according to their needs.
- APSA Research Assistant database access (membership login required): https://auspsa.org.au/apsa-research-assistance-program/
Any PhD or ECR member interested in being included in our Research Assistant Database should contact the Postgraduate Representative Sofia Ammassari and provide the following details:
- Name
- University
- Contact details
- Research interests (max 4)
- General research skills
- IT skills
- Language skills
- End date of PhD (month/year)
Any APSA member interested in hiring a PhD candidate or ECR should contact directly the person in question and arrange with them the conditions of employment.
