Conference Exchange Agreements

APSA organises a number of conference exchanges with the following Political Studies Organisations:

The New Zealand Political Studies Association offers any APSA member attending the NZPSA conference the ability to register at the NZPSA members’ rates.  NZPSA members are also eligible to register for APSA conference places at the same rate as ASPA members.  They will also provide the APSA President or nominee and one APSA member free conference registration and a free conference dinner. Priority is given to postgraduate and early career researchers but others are also eligible to apply.  Details of how and when to apply are below.

The Canadian Political Studies Association offers any APSA member attending the CPSA conference the ability to register at the CPSA members’ rates.  They also offer free conference registration to two Australian PSA graduate student members who are presenting papers at the CPSA conference.  To be eligible, APSA student members must first have an abstract accepted by the CPSA.  Once confirmation of abstract acceptance has been received, the member should contact the APSA National Office by 31 January in the year of conference attendance. Canadian PSA members are also eligible to register for APSA conference places at the same rate as ASPA members.

The Political Studies Association (United Kingdom) offers up to two APSA members free registration and a ticket for the annual dinner, hotel accommodation for four nights and a guaranteed place on a suitable panel.  Advanced graduate students are welcome.  Exchangers should be able to present in English and benefit from academic interchange and networking opportunities.  Exchangers are expected to be present for the full conference.  Applications should consist of a CV and an abstract of your paper.

The Indian Political Science Association (IPSA) offers two APSA members free full conference registration (including tickets to the conference dinner) to attend its Annual Conference. Exchangers will be expected to present papers at the Conference for which they are being sponsored and to write a report on the Conference they attend for publication in APSA’s newsletter or other official outlet. APSA will be responsible for selecting the candidates and the name of successful candidates will be passed on to the Indian PSA at least six weeks before conference is to beheld.

The Pacific Islands Political Science Association (PIPSA) offers two APSA members with free full conference registration (including tickets to the conference dinner) to attend its Annual Conferences. The two APSA members will be responsible for their travel and accommodation costs to attend the PIPSA Annual Conference. The selected candidates will be expected to present papers at the Conference for which they are being sponsored.  They will also be expected to write a report on the Conference they attended for publication in their Association’s newsletter or other official outlet.
