This presentation utilises the anti-gender mobilisations that occurred from 2022 onwards in Victoria as a case study into the division of labour in the far-right milieu at the local level. These forays into the local sphere primarily involved attempts to have drag storytimes, along with other LGBTQIA+ inclusive practices, cancelled. The actors and groups that enacted these mobilisations were disparate; some could be considered extreme right, others conservative and, some the long tail of the anti-lockdown movement. When examining the discourses and modes of mobilisation they utilised it became clear they performed the role of a reactionary force. By focusing on the division of labour, or how different actors performed differing roles within the mobilisation, they work as, what I have termed, a constellation of hate, while seeking to reinstate cisheteronormativity in the local sphere.
