The Authoritarian and Challenging Environments Research Group

The Authoritarian and Challenging Environments Research Group brings together researchers working on authoritarian, conflict-affected and even in some notionally democratic regimes that face challenges to the pursuit of research. The Group seeks to both support these researchers to continue to undertake high quality research, while also facilitating longer-term conversations about methodological innovation that aims to ensure the strength, integrity and viability of future research on authoritarian and challenging environments.
