Political Organisations and Participation

The Political Organisations and Participation Group (POP Politics) of the Australian Political Studies Association (APSA) brings together scholars and researchers working in the fields of political organisations and participation. This includes, but not limited to political parties, party regulation and party systems, interest groups, non-membership advocacy organisations, social movements and social media. We also encourage the study of political participation, including ‘traditional’ forms such as group membership but also digital and connective forms. We organise workshops, dedicated panels at the annual APSA conference, and public talks.
